Adrien Broner seemed to be more focused on boxing and candidly showed off pure skill as he beat Khabib Allakhverdiev in a technical knock out with 39 seconds left in the 12th and final round. Adrien will always be “The Problem” but now it will be strictly for his opponents and living by his other moniker “AB” or “About Billions” from now on.The fight between Adrien Broner (31-2, 23KOs) and Khabib Allakhverdiev (19-2, 9KOs) took place in Broner’s hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio at the US Bank Arena. This was Broner”s first return to the ring since losing a unanimous decision back on June 20th to Shawn Porter.
While it seemed a bit slow in the beginning of the fight with Adrien dodging most of Allakhverdiev’s offensive attacks that began to change later in the match about the 6th round. This is when Broner picked up the pace and became more of the aggressor as they trade a barrage of punches ending the round. After this Adrien really showed his rank as a fighter dominating from then on. It looked like the fight was going to go to the score cards but after a nasty connection of punches thrown by Broner the referee jumped in front of a dazed and confused Allakhverdiev and stopped the fight before it could end. This win for Broner now marks the 4th division he has won in from super featherweight, lightweight, welterweight, and now super lightweight. Adrien seems to have a bright future ahead of him with more determination about the craft of boxing as well as the business side. It looks like he will be a fight to watch for in the future. Broner is quoted saying “I’m still AB but this next half of my career, I’m going to be about boxing and billions.” Below you can watch highlights from the fight and let us know what your thoughts on the fight was as well as who you think he should fight next.
