With only a few weeks away from Floyd Mayweather’s last fight against Andre Berto the question is will this be a fight to remember? The fight is scheduled for September 12th and according to various reports it will be aired on CBS instead of Showtime PPV. While Floyd’s record is incredible with a remarkable 48-0 with 26 KO’s is this the last fight the fans really want to see.
Andre Berto has an excellent record as well with 30-3 and 23 KO’s do you think he even stands a chance against Floyd getting his 49th victory? Most in the industry are calling this fight a joke picking opponents he knows he can beat. I personally want to see a competitive fight from Floyd as a big boxing fan myself, and this being a very important fight not only to Floyd but the boxing world as well. But with Andre Berto losing 3 of his last 6 fights it leaves many wondering why he chose him over other stand outs like Amir Khan or Timothy Bradley. Not only fans feel this way Victor Ortiz is quoted saying “That’s embarrassing bro, that’s not even a fight. If anything dude, they both need to retire, or at least Floyd needs to give me some kind of a chance to redeem himself. I have no respect for that, I have no respectful reply for that. I don’t know. If we keep going I’ll say a lot of bad things.” Even still Floyd has the opportunity to tie his record with Rocky Marciano an accomplishment in its own right but is this how we want to remember him?
